I wrote about the church in a previous tip but this is a nice little bonus for Christmas fans of all ages. Upstairs on the second floor are glass display cases filled with 200 crèches from 80 different countries, lovingly collected by member Mary Spencer Rogers and given as a gift to the church in 2002. The wonderful variety of styles and mediums reflect the congregation's respect and acceptance of diverse races, lifestyles and cultures and are great fun for a look-see.

In the room outside the curator's office downstairs (just ask where to find it) are a few more as well as a delightful display of Noah's Arks that they're just starting to collect. Bring the kids - they'll love it!

(Sorry the shots are a little fuzzy; it was a pain shooting through the glass)

I can't imagine that either - you've been to more places than I have any hope of ever seeing so I'll have to travel "virtually" through your excellent pages!

that's very kind of you to say that but i know that though ive also madly, keenly run around taking millions of photos and collected all the info all for VT!! ive then not made my pages...so im quite a few countries short of having any pages made on them and quite a lot of places very inadequately covered or not covered at all....Ive even been rueing lately that i didn't write journals - sometimes i was too busy each day that by the time i found a place to stay i was too tired...and relied on the paper info...which of course has been languishing taking up too much space or just become just a logistical nightmare...hopefully not impossible though.

It is, and was an unexpected surprise as I'd stopped by just to see the church!
