Island Chicken Inasal: "Don't be CHICKEN. Try the GREEN MANGO SHAKE." Boracay Island Restaurant Tip by PandawitchElphie

First of all, what is CHICKEN INASAL. It's basically GRILLED CHICKEN.
But unlike most grilled chicken out there, this chicken is marinated in a very unique way-- absoFREAKINGlutely YUMMY. ALL locals would tell you it's good. We have hundreds of restaurants all over the country dedicated to this one dish. Chicken Inasal. Best eaten with freshly cooked garlic rice. Dip into a traditional sauce loved by us "pinoys".
To make the yummy sauce to go with the yummy chicken, follow my directions carefully.
1. Look at the condiments on the table. You'll spot 3 bottles. Vinegar, soysauce and chicken oil.
2. In a sauce container, pour vinegar, soysauce and add calamansi (local lime). Don't be shocked. I'm serious. Calamansi + vinegar + soysauce. You can dip your chicken in this to add flavor.
3. Chicken oil ... well yes, it's as unhealthy as it can get. But...if you want to give your taste buds a treat, go ahead (after shaking the bottle a bit), and pour some on your rice. (By the way, you can ask for extra garlic so you can have more OOMPH to your meal).
Now to accompany your meal of chicken and rice, go ahead and order GREEN MANGO with BAGOONG. Bagoong is ... how to translate... like an anchovy dip. Smells awful to non-pinoys, but tastes divine. Salty-sweet. PERFECT for the green mango.
As for your drinks... my nieces swear by their FRESH RIPE YELLOW MANGO SHAKE (sweet). I swear by the FRESH GREEN MANGO SHAKE (sweet but a little sour too). For me, they have the BEST mango shakes in Boracay.
(** I know Jonah's has awesome shakes too... their PEANUT BUTTER BANANA CHOCO SHAKE is to die for...but for MANGO SHAKES, I go here to Island Chicken Inasal).
Have lunch here. Or dinner. You won't regret it. :)
