Here's a lesson for all - when using a 2008 guide book be sure to check the internet for any major changes - such as admission fees. We drove from Prague to Brno and decided to stop in at Konopiste - not far off the highway. Prices have rocketed. Admission to see the whole shooting match was 440 kc or about $26 USD per person - more if you want english translation. That's pretty steep by czech standards and seemed to explain the lack of tourists. We decided to pass - but you can tour the grounds for free. Parking was nominal - I forget the exact price- but 50 kc seems to come to mind or $3 USD.
