  Géza Hofi statue, Budapest Broadway
by antistar

Budapest has its own little theatre district a block away from the Opera on Nagymező utca. It's known sometimes as Budapest's Broadway, and contains on a short stretch of the street some of the city's most illustrious theatres. There are two traditional theatres, Thália and Radnóti, a music hall at Operett, and stand-up comedy at Mikroszkóp. Another big draw is the Moulin Rouge nightclub, which fits the area perfectly.

This small section of Nagymező utca is signified by a famous and eye-catching statue of Géza Hofi, one of Hungary's most famous actors.

Address: Nagymező utca
Directions: Take the M1 metro to Opera, and continue walking up Andrassy Ut. Take a left down Nagymező utca.
