"Bayt Al Suhaymi" Beit El Suheimi - House Suhaimi Tip by June.b

Beit El Suheimi - House Suhaimi, Cairo: 5 reviews and 25 photos

Along the Muzz Street when You turn few steps on a narrow street called El-Darb El-Asfar Street, you'll find one of Cairo's extra-orinary mansion - the Bayt Al Suhaymi of the House of Suhaymi. The name got it's name from the owner Shaikh Ahmed As-Suhaymi who actually purchased it from the original owner Abdelwahab ElTablawy who bult the house in 1796.

The mansion is like a whole block. Entry Fee cost EGP30.

The house is impressively fitted with windows carved wood intricately designed latticework. The whole mansion is huge that it will definitely consume a couple of hour to explore all it's several rooms, I wasn't able to count, really nice wooden furnitures that matches the interiors and windows.

Go onto the next tip/stop on this Islamic WWalking Tour....

There was some reworking done on some windows when I was there and there are a lot of young students mostly art or photography enthusiasts, as the house is a nice piece of work for learning phtography or professionals looking for sort of islamic medieval art subjects... or nostalgic subject caught on lens.

Address: Darb El Aasfar (along Muizz Str.), Islamic Cairo,
Directions: Near Haret Beregwan. Islamic Cairo
