Located in the village Rajcica, near the town of Debar, is the MONASTERY OF ST. GEORGE THE VICTORIOUS, (Sveti Gjorgi Pobednosev), one of the most beautiful Macedonian monasteries.
Thought to be established at the beginning of XIV century, however construction of the Female Monastery's living quarters (pic #1) was in 1835.
The Church (pics # 2 & 3) was painted in the period from 1840 to 1852. I have to say, the frescoes on the outside of the Church (Pics # 4 & 5) are stunning. We were not allowed to take pictures inside.
Before we could enter the Church, we had to put a skirt on over our clothes. Inside the church, it was absolutely beautiful. It had such a sweet smell to it - perhaps from the candles.

Address: in the village of Rajcica near the town of Debar
