There are lots of bars in Cork. But be warned, most of the bars in Cork do not sell food. So find someplace to eat before going out on a pub crawl in Cork. We did not actually do a pub crawl. We started out at the Mutton Lane Inn, and never left. We met our friend Holger there. Holger is an old friend from the early days of VT. We met about nine years ago. He is not active on VT much these days, but this is what VT does best. It allows you to make friendships to continue long past your interest in being here on a daily basis. I have spent time with Holger and his lovely wife Anne when they visited the US. We met again in Dublin two years ago. But this time we met he and Anne on their home turf, Cork. Holger suggested the Mutton Lane Inn and we agreed with him. It was a great choice. We spent a long time here, way into the late evening hours. Our mistake was we had an early train back to Dublin the next day. On the train my daugher Katie wrote in her Facebook status "I am never drinking again!" Holger saw it and replied "Mission accomplished". He knew we that we had a great time our last night in Cork, and he was responsible for it.

The Mutton Lane Inn is a small bar. You have to walk down a narrow grafitti covered alley way to enter the bar. But once there, relax and have a great evening.
