This building in the old heart of the town of Gerolstein was built in 1710. Originally it was a residential property and only in 1890 it became the office and residence of the mayor of Gerolstein. Historical it had some wild times; in 1923 the building was stormed by separatists, in 1944 it was bombed and destroyed by allied bombs, in 1949 it was rebuilt, extended in 1979 and finally in 1987 the city government moved out to a bigger building. Today it is the natural museum with valuable founds of volcanology and archeology of the surrounding region.

Address: Hauptstraße 72
Directions: Along the main road one can find the white building on the right hand side when leaving the shopping area of Gerolstein
