Favorite thing: Venice is a very safe city--one of the safest in Europe. I think it might be awkward to use a tripod to take photos because of the crush of tourists, especially at Piazza San Marco. Every spot is Venice is a great photo opportunity. You just can't go wrong taking pictures in this city.
