The Spiral Stairs of Santa Maria la Mayor
by DSwede

Built in the 13th and 14th centuries, this impressive (yet modest) church on the hills of the tiny town of Morella is worth a visit.

Inside the church, with the other examples of the gotico style architecture is a unique spiral stair case. All sources I've read say it is the only one in Spain. Its reliefs depict various time periods in the life of Christ.

Address: Placeta de la Iglesia, s/n
Directions: Inside the Church of Santa Maria la Mayor, near the end of Carrier Sol. All signs in the town can lead you here.
