Chepstow Castle: "Great pies!" Chepstow Restaurant Tip by Gillybob

Not the castle itself, but a local pub just opposite the Castle.
We stopped here for lunch on Friday, 29 April 2011, the day of the Royal Wedding. A number of locals were inside enjoying a celebration of the wedding and waiting for the balcony moment in one section of the bar. We seated ourselves in the lower section, near the entrance.
The menu offered a selection of pies, as well as a small number of other options.
Favorite Dish: I enjoyed the Moo Pie, which was served with mash potatoes and mushy peas - it was a delicious steak pie! Others enjoyed the Royal Wedding special and the fish pie, all of which were enjoyed.
Price Comparison: about average
