Springfield's Forest Park was created by Frederick Law Olmstead, famous for designing New York City's Central Park.

Forest Park is one of the largest urban parks in America at 735-acres, and is arguably more beautiful than Central Park. (It is certainly more serene.)

Forest Park features hiking and walking trails, quirky sculptures, a full zoo, the Barney House, (donated by the ice skating magnate from Springfield,) America's first public pool, and baseball, basketball, and football fields (soccer to Americans.)

The American Victorian architecture surrounding the Park is some of the USA's most attractive, in my opinion.
