"Touristy, But Worth Visiting" River Street Tip by tfrank7532

River Street, Savannah: 21 reviews and 25 photos

Yes, it's crowded but the cobblestones are charming, and there are great views of the river. The stores along the street are geared towards tourists--don't expect to find heirlooms here!

We enjoyed stopping by:

Savannah Candy Kitchen or River Street Sweets: We stopped by both for the free praline samples. I couldn't really tell the difference between the two--both were delicious!

The Market on River Street: I'm not sure if this is it's official name but it's an open air market that seems to be more or less permanently set up. There were some interesting stalls and it was fun to browse through.

The Free Boat Trolley: This boat takes you across the river to the Westin. It's free and was fun and it was neat to look at River Street from across the river.

My husband and I enjoyed visiting River Street but we much preferred Broughton Street and City Market.
