"Nice hotel, but nowhere to put things!" Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo Tip by SallyM

This hotel is conveniently located, and the rooms are well-equipped and comfortable, but they are also quite small and there is a distinct lack of storage space. Our room had no wardrobe at all, just 4 hooks on the wall with coathangers, and there weren't really any drawers, either. There was no bedside stand or shelf at all on the left hand side of the double bed.

We were travelling with only small wheelie cases and daypacks, so it wasn't a problem, but this may not be the best hotel for you if you have lots of luggage.

Breakfast is a buffet with Japanese and western items.

Unique Qualities: There is a courtyard garden on the ground floor, and the restaurant has nice views of this. We ate in the hotel one night when it was pouring with rain and we didn't want to go out, and the food was good and reasonably-priced.
