Vilaflor is Spain's highest situated village at an altitude of 1466m. The village itself is not without charme, but not too special. What makes it different from all the other villages, however, is its multitude of blooming flowers in spring. There are flowers everywhere, and their intensive orange, yellow, blue, red and pink blossoms create a beautiful contrast to the blue skies above Vilaflor. It is also a good starting point for several hiking tours, e.g. to the Paisaje Lunar. Unfortunately, we couldn't go there as we had done the Masca Gorge hike the day before and all our muscles still felt like jelly...

Address: south of Parque Nacional del Teide, Isla de Tenerife
Directions: Halfway down on TF21 towards Autopista del Sur
