"Cathedral of Polish Army of Mary" Warsaw Things to Do Tip by Raimix

Warsaw Things to Do: 1,446 reviews and 3,023 photos

This military cathedral was firstly built in 1642, for some time it was not only used as Catholic church, but also as Orthodox one, prison, orphanage. It was badly damaged in Second World War and only after it was fully reconstructed and given for use of Polish army.

Actually interior could be called as unusual and interesting, as every altar is so different. One is used as a burial place of famous soldiers and adorned with colorful glazed tiles, the main altar is with nice stained glass, and the third one is modest, made of glass, with names of soldiers around.

Address: Ul. Dluga 13\15.
Directions: Near Pl. Krasinskich.
