Foxhill Resort Langkawi: "Kampong (village) stay" Pulau Langkawi Hotel Tip by sheherezad

I stayed at Foxhill 10-13 Feb 2011 to get a 'feel' of what it would be like to live in Langkawi (in the middle of the island, where Foxhill is located, as opposed to a beach resort where I'd normally stay while on holiday).

It is run by Maria, a warm, bubbly, very cosmopolitan 'original' Kedah Malay lady! ;-) Since Langkawi's local population is Malay, you'd want to experience Malay hospitality, which is what she provides in a charming Malay kampong (village) style resort on a hill side, with friendly help and great home cooking! You can find the best 'rendang' in Langkawi in Maria's resort's kitchen :-)

I'd recommend you write to Maria and book well in advance as she has only 3 Malay style village houses (plus the tree house) which always get full! For, you get a 'house' here, mind you, not a room! ;-)
