"The Most Visited Art Museum in the World" Louvre Tip by chatterley

Visiting the Musée du Louvre is a must-do on every visitor's itinerary, I suppose! We spent one entire day inside this incredible museum. To avoid the crowd, we started to queue up at the "Passage Richelieu" at 7.30 am (there were only 2 other visitors in front of us in the queue at that ungodly hour!), and gained entrance using our PARIS MUSEUM PASS. Were we glad that our apartment was very near to the Lourve, saving us quite a bit of travelling time (we just have to walk for about a few minutes to get there!). We took a picture of the empty "Pyramid" entrance before we went to queue at Passage Richelieu.
(A note to all PARIS MUSEUM PASS holders - yes, you still need to get in line at Passage Richelieu, even if you have the pass! Having bought the pass does not give you the right to bypass the queue. In fact, the queue "grew" quite quickly!)
We were able to spend some time with Mona Lisa without having to jostle for space with other people, simply due to the fact that we were amongst the first to enter the museum when it opened for the day (alas, the crowd arrived very soon, within 15 minutes!). We also saw the Venus de Milo and The Winged Victory of Samothrace without other visitors thronging the place.. It was a surreal experience for us, admiring at these masterpieces inside this grand and amazing museum.
