Tayyab's: "For those in the know!" Tayyab's Tip by Durfun

Tayyab's, London: 7 reviews and 4 photos

A big restaurant, with different dining areas. Started life over 30 years ago as a daytime cafe and expanded over the years.

If you've booked in advance you can get a separate table, otherwise be prepared for others to sit beside you, as a large part of this place has very long tables (smaller ones pushed together) to cram in more customers!

Tayyab's sure is very popular & busy. Don't be deceived into concluding it's empty based on a glimpse you might get from outside. Once inside, you realise how big it is, with customers hidden from roadside viewers peeping in!

Being on a small side road, it's obvious it gets mostly repeat customers or those who have actively seeked it on recommendation or online reviews!

Lots of staff. Service is good, prompt, courteous, and very helpful. They provide sealed, warm towels to wipe your hands at the end.

Favorite Dish: I liked their mild mango lassi, and naans! Tried their biryani chicken but must say I was not impressed. The taste was good, but the meat had too many bones to contend with! From experience I should have known better, that Pakistanis keep a lot of bones in their biryanis!!

Looking back, I should have asked for a dish devoid of bones!!

Wasn't peckish enough to sample too many other dishes.

However. judging by the number of happy patrons in there ordering a variety of dishes, I'm sure you'd like most of what you try.
