Gran Caffe Cavour: "Get ready to be ripped off!" Gran Caffè Cavour Tip by EbeaConf

Gran Caffè Cavour, Rome: 10 reviews and 9 photos

OMG, these people use every sleazy trick in the book to take your money. We were charged 52 euros for a very ordinary meal for two, about double the price compared to other surrounding restaurants. Don't be fooled by the menu prices, you will be charged much more. For instance, they ask you if you want cheese on your dish, and then add 3 euros for a sprinkling of Parmesan. They will cajole you into the expensive wines, and at the end add a big fat cover charge for god knows what. And like the other reviewer said, if you complain you get taken to a big goon (the "manager") to slug it out. This place left a bad taste in my mouth.

Favorite Dish: The food is OK, but nothing special.
