"Cow's cave - the creation of nature" Birzai Off The Beaten Path Tip by Raimix

Birzai Off The Beaten Path: 3 reviews and 5 photos

Cow’s cave is a tourism accessible example of cave, formed of soil erosion in Birzai and Pasvalys regions in Lithuania. Tourism information tells that there is inner lake formed below cave. The lower layer of gypsum melts after special condition of weather (lot of rain, inner water sources, so on) and soil simply comes down.

Actually sometimes such failures make a lot of problems, especially if it happens in towns, villages – the destruction of roads, houses, so on. If you visit forests nearby Birzai or Pasvalys, you could see smaller or bigger such caves.

Cow’s cave is about 7 kilometers from Birzai, near the road to Pasvalys.
