A few years ago, I spent a weekend in Milwaukee and splurged by staying at what is now the InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel (formerly the Wyndham Hotel). In my opinion, it is the best hotel in Milwaukee, with elegant rooms and impeccable service.

The ten-story hotel was recently acquired by the Intercontinental Hotel group and underwent an extensive renovation in 2006. The InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel offers 221 rooms and 16 suites.

Unique Qualities: The InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel contains the Kil@Wat, a full-service restaurant specializing in Midwest cuisine. The Zen Den is a lounge which provides a relaxing place to have a drink after a day of sightseeing. Finally, the CLEAR Lounge offers drinks, snacks, and live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings.
