Yard of Ale, formerly called Cork, is a newly re-branded bar in the heart of South Howard. In its former life Yard of Ale was a wine bar, but its new name is a good description of its new specialty: beer. We stopped in one afternoon, just after opening. The bar was quiet, but we enjoyed a few beers and sports on the flat screen TV.
Their food is limited to just appetizers and pizzas, but the beer list is good. They offer over 20 craft and import drafts on tap and 75 different bottled beers. I have had the baked buffalo chicken wings, tasty, but oily. A bit like regular old fried chicken, just with more spice.
Nightly specials and events include trivia Mondays, 2-4-1 Tuesdays, yard night Wednesdays, and Thirsty Thursdays. One Saturday a month they have Ales and Tails, a fundraising event for the local Humane Society--a $5 donation gets you a few drink specials and e ticket for a drawing.
Located in the middle of SoHo next to World of Beer, across from MacDenton's Irish Pub and Ribit's BBQ, and near Cheap, the Dubliner, and the Lodge.
