This tour starts with a charter flight in a 6-seater Cessna over some of the most impressive natural wonders in Iceland. You fly along the continental divide, circle Geysir to see it errupt, and get an aerial view of Gulfoss waterfall. After this, weather permitting, you will circle the craters atop Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull. During our flight, the cloud cover was low, but the pilot was able to skillfully "punch through" to bring us up to 6,000 ft to see Eyjafjallajökull's crater - still steaming from the! It was a truely unique viewpoint!
You will land on the Westman Islands for a intimate tour of the island, which has scenery to rival the mainland. Fly back to Rekyjavik on the Eagle Air commercial flight. In our case, flown by the same pilot, which reminds you what a small community this is!
This tour is highly recommended as a great way to try and appreciate the magnitude of the natural wonders of Iceland!!
