Cu Chi Tunnels. Pictured here is a german backpacker trying to squeeze his large frame into the entrance of a VC tunnel. It was very difficult for the Americans to penetrate these tunnels and only the smallest soldier could fit into the openings. The US Army bombed, gassed, and flooded the tunnels over the course of the war but weren't successful witht heir efforts to totally destroy them. You can also fire AK-47's and M-16's at the firing range for about $1 USD per bullet. They show you a film on your visit to Cu Chi. Be prepared because the film is horrible propaganda that is totally one sided. It's almost amusing to hear this slanted point of view.
Explore the former tunnel complex which was dug and used by the Viet Minh and Viet Cong in their fight against first the French and then the Americans.

Directions: Cu Chi District is 30 km from Saigon and not too far from the Cambodian border.
othercontact: Arrange a tour with Sinh Cafe/Tr
