The Sandauer Gate is the exit of the old town northwards. It was built in 1630 into the already existing city wall. The name of the gate originates from a settlement just a little downstream, which was destroyed during the Cities War in the 14th century. People from there settled down in Landsbergs town area which is now just south of the gate.
