We caught glimpses from the distance as our coach found its way to the parking lot. The colour and onion domes stand out against the skyline in a blaze of colour. To my mind it is the outstanding building in the Kremlin district.

We arrived late morning with a brilliant blue sky being the ideal background for our photos. When compared with photos taken later in the day (2nd photo @1:11pm) you will see the grey sky, and this photo by comparison is disappointing.

Ivan the Terrible commissioned the Cathedral between 1555 & 1561. We did not enter the Cathedral
