Now, I will be the first to admit that I'm not much of a shopper. To me a great shopping experience is going into a store, getting what I came for, pay for the item and be out of the front door in less then 5 minutes. Sue, on the other hand, well let's just say that she is a consummate shopper.

However, on vacation going into small towns like Mariposa I kind of find shopping (or in my case looking and trying to find a bargain or photo op) kind of interesting. For one, the shops are all unique. This goes right along with my mantra of trying not to eat at many franchise restaurants.

On the 2nd day full day in the area we headed into downtown Mariposa for a few hours before heading back to Yosemite and dinner with VT member Kathymof and her husband. As always we ended up buying a few things (a book or 2, some postcards, a picture that we could frame later and usually a few other knick knacks).

The people were all very laid back and friendly. Oh, and since it is a little bit of an artsy town you can buy a number of different art pieces and even stop off for a wine tasting.
