this delicatessen near chinatown is a food icon in new york, famous for it's sandwiches especially the pastrami and the corned beef sandwiches and I will do a two part food tip on Katz (for more pictures). Kat'z Deli is featured many times on a lot of networks like on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, Chef Emeril Lagasse's The Originals and even the Hit and defunct TV Show Law And Order did a scene here and who would forget Meg Ryan's Famous Fake Orgasm with Billy Crystan in the Hit Film "When Harry Met Sally" of which the table and chair they sat is also an attraction in itself.

The Delicatessen is 126 years old and sting packing them crowds! They have long lines practically on all hours of the day and night and you can either wait for a table where they give you a ticket number or a separate line for to go meals. Don;t lose the ticket as they will charge you additional $ 50 on your bill if you lose it!

Thursday: 8:00am-2:45am
Friday: 8:00am - Open all night!

Favorite Dish: they have you classic New Yorker Sandwiches and Delis that are Kosher (no pork and scaly fishes) as the previous founders where Jewish Americans so besides the Pastrami and Corned Beef, you also have the Ashkenazi Matza Ball Soup, Potato Latzkes, Square Knish, Lox and Bagel, etc. the pastrami which is the most ordered is $ 18.45 an order, the corned beef sandwich at $ 17.45 an order and the Beef Brisket Sandwich at $ 17.45, their famous split pea soup at $ 6.45 an order, their classis seltzer sodas at $ 2.75 for a small 8 ounce bottle and a lot more.
