  Faceless statue of Don Giovanni

There is an intriguing 'faceless' statue of a man located outside Stavovske Divadlo (Estate Theatre) which commemorates the premiere of Mozart's opera, Don Giovanni on 29 October 1787. The explanation for this depiction is that Don Giovanni is a tragic character, hence his facelessness (not quite sure I follow this logic?): anyway, this seems to be somewhat of a recurring theme for Prague sculptures, since the babies which clamber over the Zizkov TV tower are also faceless.
