We stayed here for three night Oct 4th to 7th 2010. This was a nostalgic stay as I grew up in Batu Pahat in this neighborhood back in the late 60s..

For a nostalgic trip on a personal level, this was perfect. Also to see the last few remnants of colonial Malay. Rooms are very basic but comfortable like a motel which is what it was intended to be in the colonial days...a rest house for British officers when travelling officially...

It does has a limited dinner and breakfast menu and snacks throughout the day, so you won't starve. But Batu Pahat is so full of other good eraing options, we only ate here one night (on the pricier side). The breakfast menu is continental/english so if you want to have local malay breakfast fare just go round the corner to the main road and you will have plenty of choices

I would recommend it to anyone looking for a piece of nostalgia; if you looking for modern day hotel comforts, this is not the place for you.

The owner and his wife are very nice and friendly

Unique Qualities: A piece of living history of Malaysia/Malay's colonial past. Nice elevated setting with valley below and hills yonder
