Waverley is the main railway station in the city. I pass through several times a week.
The best spot for coffee (in my opinion) is Caffe Nero, to the north (Princes Street) side of the station.
It's small, but if there seems to be a big queue don't worry too much. Many are grabbing a coffee to go, so you might still get a table.
I seem to get wifi via Skype in there - not sure how or why, but it happens.
They have the usual selection of esoteric coffees (which I always totally ignore) and a tempting range of pastries (which I can never ignore) to keep up the carb levels.
Today (11-11-10) I paid £3.25 for a double espresso plus an almond croissant.
