The Skipton Springs canal runs alongside the back of the Castle. Here you'll find a great circular walk which was once a Victorian Promenade. It is a fantastic path with the canal on one side and a bubbling stream on the other. As you walk along you will get some great views of the rear of the Castle and the limestone Crag it rests upon. We only walked part of the way along the walk due to the inclement weather (it was raining hard)! but if you carry on around the path you will return via Chapel hill and Raikes Road where John Wesley gave a powerful sermon on the doorstep of what is not the Wright Wine Company.
