The Leeds-Liverpool Canal basin at Skipton is a wonderful area for watching the world go by, have a picnic or feed the ducks. From here you can hire a boat and explore the surrounding countryside on the 17 miles lock-free canal. The Narrowboats for hire look great and are called Rosie & Jim and Jack & Jill, each suitable for differing occupancy and length of hire. All boats have flushing toilets, heatine, cooker, sink and crockery and if you really want to treat yourselves you can order a hamper from the Boat House Cafe & Restaurant in the Canal Basin or a slap up breakfast there before you go.
