"Walk down Main Street" Cappoquin Things to Do Tip by GeoV
Cappoquin Things to Do: 1 reviews and 5 photos
One of the great pleasures of visiting small Irish towns is that they often have streets that have not suffered from modern 'development'. Thus the buildings - and especially the shop fronts - may have been adapted a little over the years but are essentially what they were a century or more ago. Cappoquin is not one of those places which falls into the 'must-see' category but it's well worth a walk down the main street for buildings like these which date from around 1830 to 1860. If you happen to be in an Irish bookshop, thumb through "An Introduction to the Architectural Heritage of County Waterford" - even if you don't intend buying it! - which shows more examples in Cappoquin, Lismore and elsewhere.
Directions: All these buildings are in Main Street / Barrack Street (which form one long street) or immediately adjoining them
