Convento Santo Domingo is the key feature of its otherwise overly touristy namesake plaza. This is another massive and gorgeous colonial complex that the town seems to have aplenty. It is also another of the more expensive now made for audio tour churches that you can choose to explore. Though it is the town's oldest church with roots reaching back to the mid-1500s, it has had its share of structural problems due largely to an enormous central nave. We had really enjoyed our tour of La Catedral and thought a lot about doing the tour here but we saw its interior during a wedding one evening and didn't particularly like the look of it. We also got to see its famed carved figure of Christ on the cross briefly before a mass started. This coupled with limited time and being on a budget made us give the tour a pass. If interested, the tour is 10000 COP ($5).
Directions: Located on the very touristy Plaza de Santa Domingo
