The City museum of Bitola is situated in the old Ottoman Millitary Baracks.
Build in the beginning of XVIII AD, and one of the places where the Young Turks Revolution started.
The Old Ottoman Military baracks are also part of the bigger Military compound with Military school where Mustapha Kemal, latter known as Ataturk, started his education, to return & serve as young officer in the Bitola Garison..
The City museum has two separate permanent shows. One is the Museum show with artefacts found in and around Bitola from 3000BC to present days, including findings from the ancient city Heraclea Lynkestis. Founded by Philip of Macedon, the father of Alexander the Great.
The show is small comparing with wold museums, but has some very good & important historiccal artefacts.
Second show is about the life and work of Mustapha Kemal Ataturk the father of the Young Tourks Revolution.
Worth visit and time spend there.
