"St. Merri Church" Paris Off The Beaten Path Tip by TexasDave

Paris Off The Beaten Path: 1,968 reviews and 4,171 photos

The present church was built between 1500 and 1550. The style is 16th-century Gothic. Lots of Gargoyle downspouts on the exterior. The bell tower contains the oldest bell in Paris, cast in 1331, and survived the French Revolution. Both the altar and the under-roof of the pulpit have the "Tetragrammaton" 4 Hebrew letters which translated into English are God's name, Jehovah.
