more picture with my friends from san diego and chicago eating here at the famous artisanl doughnut joint of doughnut plant.

Doughnut Plant is now 20 years and still going strong (it was started in 1994 by a noted baker, Mark Isreal here in the lower east side on September 8, 1994) and it isserving a variety of local artisanal doughnuts that is simply the best in New York City. They source their ingredients from local producers in the area and they hand roll the doughnuts here and they make most of their ingredients from scratch and they also don' scrimp on the fillings as they use Valrhona Chocolates, Organic Fruits and Dairy and flour products, hence the premium prices. They now have a branch in the Chelsea Area but their original branch is located at the Lower East Side and is a stone's throw away from the other Icon in the Lower East Side, Katz Deli.

there is usually a line in their store during peak snacking hours.

Opens: 6:30 am to 8:00 pm everyday

Favorite Dish: the assorted artisanal doughnuts.

the hand rolled and organic doughnuts. they have filled doughnuts, yeast doughnuts and cake doughnuts of which the regular ones are the tres leches, blackout, carrot cake and the seasonal ones like the peach cake or the pineapple and rosemary filled doghnuts and more. Doughnuts here costs from $ 3.50 to $ 6.50 a piece, depending on the fillings or ingredients. they also have fruit juices, espressos, iced tea and ice cream.
