"Hike the inlets of the Banks Peninsula" Christchurch Tip by codobai

Christchurch, New Zealand: 19 reviews and 44 photos

The Rotoiti and Rotorua lakes are also quite picturesque and not too remote if you're in the Nelson-Tasman area. For very "civilized" hikes, I'd go to the Banks Peninsula and trek the inlets of Akaroa. The serene solitude if so desired can be replaced with refinement in town within a short period without needing a long car drive.
