"Wandering The City #4 - Die Welt Balloon" Walking Tip by johngayton
Walking, Berlin: 32 reviews and 87 photos
This was something I noticed over the rooftops as I was trying to work out what the Anhalter Bahnhof ruin was all about and so that dictated my next direction of travel.
This is a tethered helium balloon, located just off Checkpoint Charlie, which offers panoramic city views from its gondola as it is allowed to float to the height of 150 metres before being winched back down.
Trips last 15 minutes and the adult ticket costs (Sept 2010) 19 Euros. Website has all the details of times and other prices.
I was tempted to try this out as my City Tour card offered a 6 Euro reduction but when I found that there was no bar on board decided to give it a miss ;)
