A city square in the centre of Leeds to commonerate the year 2000. The square is bordered by some of Leeds's famous buildings and attractions such as The Civic Hall, The Electric Press and Leeds City Museum. There are also the Nelson Mandela Gardens adjacent to the sqaure when the former President came to visit Leeds and opened the gardens.
The square holds the annual German Christmas Markets (From mid November to mid December) and, 'Ice Cube', a temporary ice rink (usually in February). There are other events and fairs that are held during the year.
