We arrived a bit early for check in on Labor Day Weekend, but that was no problem. We had a King Size Bed in a room which had plenty of space. There is no free wifi at this Marriott. We found everything clean and in fine condition; the bed was comfy and the room temperature was perfect. All the lights were working although it was a little difficult to find extra electrical outlets.
The personal items in the bathroom were from Bath&Body; shampoo, conditioner, lotion and hand and bath soap. Water temperature and pressure was good the entire time. The towels were fresh and fluffy. The room was made up each afternoon by the time we got back from our day trips.
We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet on Saturday morning in The Bistro. It cost $14.50 plus tax. The coffee was included in the price. The chef prepared one of the best omelettes I have ever had - the buffet included hash browns, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sweet rolls, bagels, toast, delicious fresh waffles, cold cereal, hot cereal, and several different fruit plates.
The servers brought us the fresh orange juice and coffee. Coffee was very good.
We were very pleased with our stay here - it is a little tricky to get to it from the LIE, but after a couple of extra turns we found it. We had to do some hunting to find some restaurants. There is a Dunkin Doughnuts about a mile away and a Panera Bread in a shopping center about three miles away. There are two grocery stores nearby, but you must have your own transportation to get to these places. I would say if you don't have your own car you will have to eat at the hotel, as it is more out of the way and it's difficult to get across LIE to get back to shops and stores. We located a Five Guys Burgers and Fries about a mile away, and it is next to the library that has wifi so I was able to use my laptop there. We were doing day trips from here so we ate at different places on Long Island during our stay.
Unique Qualities: This Marriott has a very nice pool area - the pool was large and clean. The hot tub was working all four days we were there. Adjacent to the pool is a good exercise room. It was busy most of the time. There are towels at the pool to use after a swim or soak in the hot tub.
