JUN BO Chinese Restaurant: "Huge Selection-Try the Value Meals Choices" Bloomington Restaurant Tip by Tugboatguy
Bloomington Restaurants: 3 reviews and 6 photos
This very large Chinese restaurant just opposite the 494 Freeway from the la QUINTA Inn where I stayed is actually just inside the adjacent town of Richfield, Minnesota, but close enough to Bloomintoon to be handy and considered for lunch or dinner and open seven days a week. Extensive menu will also require study but let me suggest the Value Meals choices. There are three Value Meal choices, depending on number of people and their hungriness. Somewhat less expensive than David Fong's.
Jun Bo's Value Meals offer a wide choice of soups (4), appetizers (8) and entrees (90) of one each for Value Meal 1 for $9.95. Value Meal 2 adds a second entree choice for total $14.95 . Value Meal 3 adds choice of two appetizers from the 8 possible and three entrees from the 90 for a total price of $19.95. So, Value meals 2 or 3 may be shared by a party of two or three diners. All menu items are available for takeout. Soups and entrees on the third page of the takeout menu are not available for Value Meal selection. These include BBQ ribs, half roast duck, lobster, clams, and various other fish seafoods, congees (congers?) and noodle, fish, pork, crab, beef or other seafood soups. Prices range to $30 for the lobster.
The large room had mixed tables of Asian and Caucasian parties eating together which bespoke authenticity of the cooking. Friendly, efficient service from all-Asian employees in a clean, bright atmosphere. Excellent tasting Chinese food with ample portions.
Hours: 11 am to 9:30 pm Mon-Fri. 10 am to 9:30 Sat-Sun.
Favorite Dish: I chose Mongolian Beef entree with steamed white rice and cup of Hot & Sour soup choice. This Value Meal included appetizer choice which I chose grilled chicken white meat pieces on two spits-this is a LOT of food! Plentiful and flavorful beef and vegetables including crisp water chestnuts, onions and greens in sauce. Refreshing ice water refilled and hot green tea. I recommend you try Jun Bo if wishing authentic Chinese food favorably priced.
