"Amsterdam Marionetten Theatre" Amsterdam Marionetten Theatre Tip by dustmon
Amsterdam Marionetten Theatre, Amsterdam: 2 reviews and 5 photos
This is A'Dam's main puppetry theatre and I was lucky enough to attend a free performance during the Wallenfest this past week----they had set up the theater with displays of past shows, different sculptured heads, and some refreshments, and then we saw a 5 minute show featuring Mozart playing the piano with some friends and animals keeping him company via strings from above----My son is a puppeteer and I have seen his excellent work, and these folk were incredible! Very realistic puppets---I asked later , and they said they have an in-house sculptor who makes all the puppets shown in their performances. The theater is located above the red lite district near the Nieuwmarket, in the heart of the old city center.
Check the website for performances of "Wolfie in the Red Light District" and other shows when you visit---I heartily recommend people going to puppet shows--these guys and girls are excellent!
Address: Nieuwe Jonkerstraat 8
