A special festival was being held the weekend I was in A'Dam, called Open Monumentendag Amsterdam 2010, with different sites being opened that are not normally open to the public often---The Dominican Church between the RLD and the Spui was open on Saturday and Sunday, with even a free organ concert during visiting hours---a beautiful church inside, if you get the chance to see inside, definitely recommended.....
They had a dress and a pair of shoes displayed inside on a big canvas---I asked what it was and they said that every month they showcase a local artist and this was the September artist on display---they were not sure exactly what it represented tho.....
