The Hiroshima tram system is a convenient but slow way to get around the city. The quality of the trams themselves vary drastically from spanking new ones to old rattling streetcars inherited from all over the country.

There are seven main lines which traverse the city, with 4 lines serving Hiroshima JR Station. The normal fare is ¥150 within the city but stretches to ¥250 for Miyajima-guchi (for ferries to Miyajima)

You pay as you leave the tram and the payment is usually to the drivers themselves. There are separate entry and exit doors
