Zutos Apartments became our base for our Montenegro
adventure in the West Balkans and what could be
more fitting than a room in the old fortress (Kalaja)
in Ulcinj Stari Grd (old city) once inhabited by Illyrians,
Greeks, the Colchinians,Romans, Turks, Italians,
now mostly Ethnic Albanians and Russians in the summertime
who seem to be more and more.
The trickle of backpackers and individual travellers also on
the increase.
Have you heard of the tale about Don Quixote? History tells
us that the famous Spanish author, the same Miguel Cervantes
who penned the famous book Don Quixote, was held captive in
Ulcinj for several years after being captured at sea by Corsair
pirates off the coast of Barcelona,
Well this is what I was thinking about in our different rooms we
stayed in at Zuto's looking out to sea.

Unique Qualities:
Ulcinj is one of the oldest towns at the Montenegrin
coast and is very well preserved. The old town (Stari Grad)
is surrounded with old walls and towers and it´s like an old
castle over looking the sea and Zutos place is right in the heart
of it all.
