"Murgleiter Hiking Trail - Black Forest" Top 5 Page for this destination Germany Things to Do Tip by MichaelFalk1969

Germany Things to Do: 1,227 reviews and 1,979 photos

The (strenuos) Murgleiter hiking path is one of the best-rated in Germany, and deservedly so. Some of the best panoramic views of the northern Black Forest can be found along this route. It is located between the cities Gernsbach - Forbach - Baiersbronn (1/2 hour driving distance from Karlsruhe); it is recommended to plan in three days if you want to hike the whole route. The most beautiful part in my opinion is the hike from Gernsbach to Forbach (ca. 24 km / 8 hours). The "Murgleiter" path is marked by a "M" on a grey field; the path is well-signed. Regular "S-bahn" train connections make it possible to start in one city and return by rail to your starting point after completing the hike.
