Les Invalides is huge - comprising of a church, museums etc, with tombs and vaults. It was built in 1679 as a home and hospital for the aged and ill soldiers. It still houses the "Institution Nationale des Invalides", which is an institution for disabled war veterans. The institution comprises of a retirement home, a medical and surgical centre, as well as a centre for medical consultations.

The photo shows Les Invalides, with the French Baroque style chapel dome (Église du Dôme).

Les Invalides is known for being the location for the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. It is also the burial site for some of his family members, as well as his generals and other military heroes.

The museum pass will give you free admission to the museum.
